I started creating my own fashion when I was 13 sewing garments out of my grandmother`s sheets. While living in America I made money knitting crazy sweaters.

I became a dressmaker and had hard times working in the clothing-industry. Studying fashion-design in Düsseldorf Germany taught me how to transform my ideas in a professional way. My inspiration always came from travelling. Meeting craftsmen all over the world, especially textile-people inspired me to start my own collection of accessories. It was destiny that I had the chance to work in Central India as a teacher in fashion design fort two years. This was part of a developing-aid programm. Here I made friends and met the people, with whom I still love to work.

Since my first journey to India, I have travelled there many times and still I love it and I love to work especially with Indian women. All my handwoven items are made by Indian women. I visit the workplaces frequently and they share their precious ancient textile-tradition and inspire me to new creations.

All my handknitted items are made by German women, friends and members of the family.

Since 2000 I have established my studio in the former stable of an ancient farmhouse in a peaceful little village in the middle of Rheinhessen. Here I find peace both to work and live and to design my collection.
